Futures jumped again Wednesday, so $6 isn't a maybe, it's a "when."

If you're running a mobile operation, you're getting squeezed on both ends — your own fuel bill climbing, and customers suddenly a lot pickier about what they'll actually sign off on. I know a lot of you have seen this pattern before: fuel spikes, and fleets start doing real math on total operating cost before approving anything.

What are you telling customers who are pushing back on repair costs right now?

I am considering purchasing a cordless torque multiplier mainly for wheel installation(cordless impact looking tool with reaction arm and torque data recording). We currently torque wheel lug nuts with a click type torque wrench. I am a small shop, I think this would provide a small time savings when installing tires. My main thought is if someone ever gets hurt due to a torque wrench slipping I would justify the cost of two of them. It seems like there is always body on a truck or a set of fenders in the way or in the path of your hand when pulling on a torque wrench. The torque data recording would also be an added benefit for liability. Curious if anyone else has experience with one.

Hey all,

I'm Robby Gilbert - I run Finance at Fullbay. I spend most of my days looking at numbers on a screen, and I'd like to actually go see a shop in person instead of just reading about them in a spreadsheet.

One thing up front: I'm not a product person, so if you're hoping I can show you some slick new Fullbay feature or fix something that's bugging you, I'm the wrong guy - our support team's got you way better than I would. I just want to come hang out for a day and see how you actually run things. How ROs move, how you juggle techs, scheduling, what makes a good day vs. a bad one, learn some about financials of a shop, that kind of stuff.

Would anyone be up for letting me shadow your shop for a day? No agenda beyond genuine curiosity - partly because I think it'll make me better at my job, partly because I just think it's interesting.

Details:

- Flexible on when - we can find a time that works for you
- I'm out of Phoenix, AZ but happy to travel
- Doesn't matter if you're a 3-bay shop or a big fleet operation
- I'll get the shop lunch for the day and try to stay out of the way
- If there's anything you want my take on - finance-side stuff: AR, AP, budgeting, forecast, whatever - let me know ahead of time and I'll do my best to come prepared for it

Reply here or shoot me a shoot me a direct message if you're interested. Thanks for reading this far either way.

Robby
